Degree qualification at the University of Dar es Salaam is classified into the following four categories.
First Class: An overall average of 4.4 or higher
Upper Second: An overall average in the range of 3.5-4.3
Lower Second: An overall average in range of 2.7-3.4
Pass degree: An overall average of between 2.0 and 2.6
In each case the average point shall be calculated on the basis of rounding off to one decimal place (e.g. 4.39 shall be taken as 4.3)
